We wanted to go camping over Easter. We decided on Yuba Lake. We had such a fun time. Here is a breakdown.
We got there on Friday afternoon. My sister and her family were already there. It took us some time to get all set up so we really didn't have time to take the 4 wheeler out. I made BBQ ribs and potatoes in the dutch oven. It took FOREVER to cook, but was super yummy when it was finally done. For Dessert we had peach cobbler and smores. That night we all sat around the campfire and played a game and talked, it was super cold, but lots of fun. Jakes parents were down with us as well.
Saturday we had an Easter Egg hunt with Ary's family. Ary hid some at her camp spot that they found, and then they came to our spot and found some and then Ary's family left. Our family and Grandma and Grandpa took off for an adventure in the 4 Wheeler. It was SO much fun. We went a total of 60 miles. We went exploring. We would find a fun area and we would stop and play and walk around. We made it to the other side of the lake and assumed we would be able to go the entire way around. We went through a few gates that were open, there were NO signs saying no trespassing, we went through some fields, we saw some cow, they ran from us, we saw deer and lots of bunnies. we had been gone now for several hours. We came to a point and didn't know what to do, the lake just kept going, it looked as if it was never going to end. We chatted about what to do, I really wanted to turn back around. The sun would be going down soon. Grandpa suggested we say a prayer and decide after what we should do. Marshall said a prayer asking for help knowing what to do and that we would be safe and get back before the sun went down. Now, we were not lost! We could either turn around and go back the way we came, we knew that path; or we could keep going and hope the trail kept going and make it around the lake. It was 6pm and we had already been gone for 2.5 hours. I felt like if we made no stops and just floored it back we could be back in just over and hour. We all felt good about that and we turned around. Jake was driving, and he floored it. We made it back in 45 minutes with plenty of sun shine to go around. At one point during the ride Grandma got scared and while driving she took off her seatbelt and opened the door and was going to jump out, it was hilarious and it wasn't even scary!!!
Sunday we listened to conference and then Jake and I went out for a bit (it was windy and not a ton of fun). Jakes parents went home.
Monday we went on some hikes to find some geo caches and then on another ride, It was windy and not very much fun so we headed back and packed up and headed home.
We had so much fun. We can't wait for our next camping trip!
