Kambria Update

I took Kambria into the Dr yesterday to do a follow up, and to check on a horrible rash she has gotten from her medicine. The Cellulitis is almost completely gone, and the rash is a yeast infection type rash from the antibiotic (just as I thought), so they gave her an ointment to put on it!! That was good news.
However I have the most crazy child ever. She is proving to be great Birth Control for Jake and sometimes for myself. She was the best child ever up to 4 months old. Then she hit 4 months and all Hell broke loose. She doesn't sleep, she screams all the time (she is just noisy), and she has to be in your view!!! Seriously she doesn't sleep. She wakes up every hour. The let her cry method works good to get her to fall asleep, however 1 hour later she is awake and you have to do it all over again, EVERY SINGLE HOUR!!! Any advice at all would be awesome. I truly don't know how to get her to sleep longer then an hour at a time, it is exhausting. We still love her and she is a joy during the day, but if anyone would like to adopt her for the night times, she is all yours!!!!

It's Our 9th Anniversary

Today Jake had these super beautiful Roses delivered to me, with a card that made me cry!! What an amazing husband, aren't they super pretty. There are 9 roses ... since we have been married for 9 years, 6 Beautiful red roses, a white for our wedding day, an orange for Marshall and a Pink for Kambria. Love you Jake!

I am so lucky to get to Babysit today, and Jake gets to work, but tonight us and the kids will go to dinner and miniature golfing, and then this weekend Jake and I are off to Midway!! Yeah!!

9 Awesome Years

Wow 9 years we have been married (tomorrow). We have had the greatest 9 years. I can't say it has all been easy, but most definitely worth it!! Looking back the last 9 years, we have been so blessed with so many things. The most important thing we have been blessed with is our family. We have Marshall who is 4yrs old he will be 5 in December. He truly was a blessing and a miracle to us. I am thankful that Heavenly Father saw how much we needed him and allowed him to come to earth to teach us so much! He is such a smart boy, he loves to play, he loves to learn and he loves to take care of Kambria. He has the best imagination ever. Many of times he will be playing in the toy room by himself and just talking away, I will say what, and he says annoyed, Nothing Mom I am just talking to myself. Then we were blessed with Kambria. She is our 7 month old sweetheart. It took us a long time to get Kamria here, but the frustration and the hard times was so worth it. She is a good girl. She is so happy and is growing too fast, and is so smart already!! We love having her as part of our family.

I am so thankful and blessed to have Jake as my companion. He treats me better then I could ever imagine. He is so thoughtful and so caring. There has never been a birthday, anniversary or holiday where he has not planned something for us, or gotten me a gift ... even though he has a wife that is not as thoughtful and is a horrible planner and gift giver. We take turns planning anniversaries, we do it every other year. Most of my years have been movie and a dinner, which is fine, but compared to what Jake plans, not so cool. This year I decided I needed to do something fun so this weekend we are headed to Midway, for food, shopping, golfing and relaxing.

Over the last 9 years we have had so many adventures. the first 4 years of our marriage we traveled so much (for us), we got into our first home, we got settled into our Careers, and we started planning for a family. We wanted to get pregnant our 1st year of marriage, however the Lord obviously had other plans for us, and i am rather thankful he did. Marshall came into our lives at the most perfect time, and by waiting we were in a situation where I could quit and stay home with him. The last 5 years I have gotten to see a whole new Jake, what an amazing Dad he is. Not only does he have so much love for me, but he loves our kids so much, he is so kind, patient, loving, fun, supportive and caring to them. I am thankful for our life this far, I know the years to come can only get better. Jake is the best companion, Daddy, and provider. We are lucky to have him, and love him for all he does for us. We are all excited when Daddy comes home, even little Kambria, she adores her Daddy!!! I am also thankful for our trials, they make us even stronger as a couple. Marshall has spent the night in the hospital when he was 1, Kambria just had her run with being sick and it has made us stronger. I am thankful for the bond Jake and I have, I truly am a lucky lady to be married to Jake.

Thanks Jake for an amazing 9 years!!! I can't wait to see what the next 9 years bring our way! Love you!!

Bear Lake 2009

We just returned from Bear Lake and It was so much fun! We had several adventures on our vacation. The weather was good, but windy as well. While we were gone to the beach there was a large wind storm, when we returned to camp, our awning had been blown over our camper and needless to say, it broke and needs some repair. We had a fun time playing on the beach, other then the wind. On Saturday I decided to be a fun Brandy and played out in the water with Jake, whild Grandma was nice enough to watch poor Kambria. On Sunday ... my mom, Ary and her kids came up and we rented a 3 person wave runner, it was a blast. We also rented a tube that we could pull with the wave runner. I had forgotten the amount of fun to be had on a wave runner. While Jake and I were out we were jumping the wake from the boats, one was so huge it went over our heads and drenched us, it was so so so so much fun!! BJ and Nat rented a boat as well, I decided to try water skiing, I got up on my second try, it was a blast!! Jake got up like nothing and did plenty of tricks while he was out. BJ tried and got really close, I have some good biff pictures of him! It was a fun time with the Cutrights, I love to eat the food, chat and just relax. We got up on Thursday, Kambria slept horrible, the next day (Friday) Kambria was crying all day long and was really warm, I gave her medicine all day long thinking she was teething. We also thought she may be constipated, we checked and she seemed fine. She was in so much pain, so Jake gave her a blessing and in it he said something to the effect of helping Kambria feel better and to let us be able to know if she needed to be taken to the Dr. A few hours later I was changing her diaper again and there was a huge bump on her right butt cheek, I had not noticed it before. It seemed to look similar to a spider bite, but was super hard and warm and red. I really felt like she needed to go to insta care. She was also warm, but we didn't have a thermometer so we weren't sure what her temp was. Jake agreed and off we went. Grandma kept Marshall. When we got there they were closed but had an emergency number we could call, so Jake called and the Dr showed up about 2 mins later. Kambria was inconsolable and the moment he looked at her butt and felt how hard it was he became very concerned. He advised us that Kambria was very sick and she needed to immediately go to Logan Hospital. He kept telling us over and over that he was very concerned and how bad Kambria was and that if this wasn't taken care of immediately that it would become even worse and could become life threatening. I started bawling and at 11:00 at night we journeyed through Logan Canyon in the dark with lots of deer outside! Needless to say it was a bit scary. 1 hour later we made it to the Hospital. We told them how serious this was and they made us wait 1 hour until they called us back, we got back they took her temp and it was 103.5, immediately the dr and nurse came back ... This dr as well there was so concerned and made it as clear as he could that She is very sick. He said she may even have to stay the night!! They diagnosed her with Cellulitis. This is an infection of the tissues under the skin. Is caused by bacteria. Bacteria can get into a cute scrape, etc. The infection can be quite serious. They ended up giving her an antibiotic shot and an oral medicine and Tylenol and Motrin. Finally several hours later her fever dropped so they sent us on our way. We drove again in the dark down the canyon and returned to the campground at 430 in the morning. The gate was closed and we didn't want to wake up anyone so we walked a long walk to the trailer. The next day we had to go back to the insta care for Kambria to get a second shot. Kambria is doing better everyday, her butt is still super super sore, but it is looking better. I would say this was a horrible experience, it is really hard to not be able to console your child, to see them hurt so bad, especially when they are so little. And it was so hard to hear 2 different drs tell me how sick she really was and if not treated it could be life threatening was really hard to hear. I am happy she is doing better, its been hard, but slowly and surely she will recover. I am glad to have jake as my husband, and that he honors his priesthood, it is times like these that we grow even closer to one another, there is a bond there that can't be broken. I love my family and I am glad that everything worked out how it did. Thanks to Jake's family for helping with Marshall while we were out all night and for being so nice and helpful to us.
Bear Lake was great!! I can't wait for next year!!! But next year there will be zero problems!!

The Gut Laugh

So I know all babies laugh, and Kambria has been for a while. Marshall can make her laugh so hard, and today was the hardest Gut laugh from Kambria I have ever heard. It is loud, cause I used my video on my phone, but she is laughing so hard and then Marshall starts in. I was dying of laughter it was just so cute!! Sorry if it is just too much noise, best I could do!!!

Growing up to fast

So Marshall has been so entertaining lately. He makes me laugh so hard. We went to the Temple Open house the other night and while we were in the temple Grandma said this is where you get married and Marshall replied, I know I am going to marry Addison here! Then a few moments later Papa said something like you get married then you get pregnant, and Marshall said, No papa Addison will be the one that gets pregnant! He has decided that he is going to marry Addison, it is pretty funny! So we were driving home from Home Depot the other night and being funny I said how many girls are you going to kiss when you get bigger Marshall, and he said none (with a Yuck voice), Daddy said oh oh, how many boys, and Marshall said none. Jake said what about Addison and he turned bright red and laughed so uncontrollably hard, it was so stickin funny!! He also has recently become friends with a little girl named Emma and he was so excited to see her at church yesterday. When he did he said, do you see Emma mom, she is so cute, look how cute she looks. Then when we were leaving he said hurry up mom we need to catch up with Emma so we can talk to her. I said, Addie better watch out, I think you like Emma now, he said, Emma is my new best friend, but I'm still going to marry Addie!!!
I just think it is funny that a 4 year old is so into girls and gets embarrassed. I hope I don't have my hands full when he gets older!
Marshall is also very obsessed with Webkinz, he is so smart on the computer and knows exactly what he is doing, it is amazing to me. He could play all day if I let him, but because of his obsession, I have had to set limits!!

On Friday we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon for a pic nic with my Mom and Dad and my sisters kids. It was relaxing and fun. We ate, played and then left when the mosquitoes came out.

Ma Ma

She did it, and it melted my heart! Last night I was laying on my bed with Kam just talking to her. Yeah kind of funny but me and Kambria we love to talk. She will stare into my eyes and just jabber for hours .... its as if she is telling me something really important. We were sitting there and she looked at me and said, "Ma Ma" I smiled really big and she said it again. I just love that! Its like you know they know you are ma ma, but when they finally say it, for some reason, I love it! Its sad how big she is getting, but so much fun at the same time. She has hit a mark in her little development where she is not my tiny newborn anymore. She rolls everywhere, she talks non stop, she sits, she knows her name, she knows marshalls voice, she is a good sleeper (FINALLY), she loves food, she has her own personality. I just love being a Mom!!!!
There is something about my kids crawling into bed with me. In the mornings Marshall will come and crawl into Jake's spot once he has left for work, I love to hug him and talk to him. He will tell me about his dreams, ask me about mine, hug me, tickle my back, and just talk with me. I love my kids, being a Mom is awesome!!!!!

Okay .... So tonight Jake is over volunteering at the Temple Open House, so Marshall and I thought it would be fun to go and get an ice cream cone and then try to find that new reservoir/beach area they built that's close to us.
So we got our ice cream and we started driving, I am not way good with directions, so I could get lost pretty easy. I have no idea where this is, just a general direction. We are driving in and out of subdivisions and I said to Marshall, I guess we should just turn around and go home, dad can take us later, cause I don't want to get lost. Marshall replies, "Mom its not bad to get lost, because all you have to do is pray to Heavenly Father and he will get you home!" I said you are exactly right, however I would rather not get lost, but if we did, we can pray and you are right Heavenly Father listens and he would help us get home. It was quiet for a minute, I could tell Marshall was in deep thought, and then he said, "Mom ... I hope we get lost", why is that Marshall, "Because I really want to see Heavenly Father" Well when we pray we don't see him I replied, he says, "That's not fair, I want to see what he looks like" So I explained how prayer works and that we can see him in pictures and then one day we will get to see him and how special that will be. Marshall was then a bit sad, because he thinks it is way to far away to wait to see what he looks like!!
I just thought that was so cute that he listens to what we teach him, he has heard us pray and takes that in. But I really loved that he wanted us to get lost, because he wants to see our Heavenly Father. I love my family, and I just wanted to write this down so I don't forget.

Cutest Baby Ever

Kambria is such a great Baby!! She has her moments as all babies do, but I just love her to pieces. I went in to check on her while she was napping and she was the wrong direction in her crib, on her tummy and the cutest ..... her toes were poking out the slats of the crib. She is 100% sitting up now and grabs everything around her, she is a fun kid!

I must say the 5 min (with letting her cry and then comfort, previous post) thing has brought a lot of happiness to me!!! It worked so well, and Kambria is only waking up 1 time a night. Going to bed around 8, waking at 2 and then waking again around 7 or 8. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!

Nothing much else new, other then today we went to the park, and the little guy I tend was stung by a bee/wasp/hornet 2 times, not fun at all for him or me. But he is okay, and his parents were understanding, can't really control insects when you are outside!

Sleep issues!

My Baby Kambria has some major sleep issues, she sleeps way under the amount she should. She cries and so mommy is a sucker and goes and picks her up and talks to her and she has caught on apparently, and doesn't sleep, just cries. At her 6 month check up I was telling the Dr. what a horrible sleeper she is, he stated that I needed to put in ear plugs and just let her cry :0( Yeah not going to happen I thought to myself as I said okay to the Dr. Well it just keeps getting worse and worse .... in return, mom gets no sleep so she is tired, ornery, and useless.
I was talking to my sister and telling her how hard it is, she suggested the following method.
Put Kambria to sleep, allow her to cry for 5 mins, go into her room and comfort her .... however DO NOT pick her up. Leave the room once she is calm and allow her to cry 1o mins this time unless she goes to sleep, if still crying after 10 mins go in and comfort her again, leave and let cry for 15 mins, you then repeat the 15 mins until she goes to sleep.
This sounded way too hard for me, I really feel like a jerk to let my little baby girl cry ..... BUT I need my sleep. So today when she would not take a nap, and I was getting frustrated, after getting only 4 hours of sleep last night (Marshall was up with high fever all night), I decided it was time.
I put Kam in her crib, she gave me the sad eyes and I walked out, she began to cry, so loud, so hard, so sad ..... I sat in the kitchen listening to her cry .... counting down the 5 mins feeling like the worst mom in the world. After 5 mins I ran in her room, put her Binky in her mouth rubbed her tummy, said I was so sorry, talked to her and almost cried. She calmed down and I walked out ..... so wanted to pick up my little girl. Went back in the kitchen, Kam starts crying then stops after about 2 mins, go peek in and she is sound asleep. YEAH :0), she is asleep faster then it would normally take, and she didn't have to be held or fed to go to sleep.
I here you have to do this about 2 or 3 times before they understand and it works.
I will continue this for I know it is best for us all. Lets all hope it works like a charm tonight!!!!

Da Da

This is just for my records so I can remember to put it in Kambria's baby book!!
Today Kambria looked at Jake and said da da, and then did it over and over again. I love when there babbling starts to connect and they put it with something. Da Da always seems to come first, so now the waiting for when she says ma ma.

Kambria is just over 6 months and she finally has the sitting down. She still falls over once in a while, but she can sit for long periods and reach for things. She is getting good. She is all over th plac on her tummy, circles and forward a bit. She is so much fun !!! :0)

July 10th at 11:00am Marshall's Water Party

Hey friends, Marshall wants to have a water party with his friends! We have a big water slide and a pool to play in. Come have some fun. We will provide some hot dogs and chips! Let the neighbors know, cause I am not sure who all checks our blog. The more the merrier. It will be this Friday at 11:00. Leave us a message and let us know if you will be coming so we know how much food to buy!!

4th of July Weekend

The 4th was a lot of fun!! We started out the weekend by Jake with the help of Ryan and my dad and then later his dad and BJ helping build an awning over our patio, it is so so so so nice!!!! Friday night me and the kids and my parents and Ary’s kids went to the Riverton Parade, it was a lot of fun. We ate pizza and then watched the parade. Fun but very HOT! On Saturday we had family and friends over for a Big BBQ and water party! Last year my mom bought a big huge water slide, and we have several pools. So what we did was … we took out a section of the fence between our yard and the Rousey’s that way we had a lot of yard to play with. We set up the slide in the Rousey’s backyard and it was a blast. The day started out by Jake soaking me with water. Throwing me in the pool, he is lucky there were people or he would have been in TROUBLE!!!!! But I was in my swimsuit so it was okay and it was fun. After lots of swimming and food , we did fireworks out front. It was a fun night!

Splash Park

In our ward we do a park play group and each week it is at a different park. Today it was at the Splash Park!!! So I packed up the kids (including the 2 I watch) and we headed over. It was fun, but 1 hour was plenty long trying to keep track of 3 kids when you are used to 1!!!
