My Dad's Baptism

Where do I start ......

I love my Dad.  My Dad is such a good person, and is so kind, service oriented, helpful, fun and great.  Growing up my worked a lot of Sundays, so it was my Dads job to get us kids to go to church. Well he did a good job, because if we didn't go we had to watch his bible class with him and it was SO BORING!!

My Dad has always supported us in everything that we have ever done.  He has been to all of the grand kids baby blessings, baptisms, activities, everything!

My Dad has never shown interest in the church, fact is he has always said he will not join the church. I think the majority of us had given up on him ever joining, except my Dads home teacher and my Grandma Gotberg.  My Grandma Gotberg always gave my Dad the ensign and she would put little articles inside she thought he would enjoy.  My Dad's home teachers have always loved my Dad for who he was and never judged him or treated him different.  They would give a lesson, and chat and they were friends with him.  His neighbors the same way.  I dare say that my Dad never felt like a project in his ward, people just loved him for the nice guy that he is.  He would go to activities with my Mom, and they have a group of friends they go on ATV rides with that are all members.  They have some good friends that they have went on cruises with.  I just really admire my parents ward, because no one has ever pressured my Dad, or treated him different, they have just loved him.

Well I got a call from my Mom one night, she said I thought you would like to hear the conversation I just heard.  My Dad asked my Mom to call my Moms mom (Grandma Gotberg), and then he took the phone.  Dad said to Grandma Gotberg, do you remember when I told you that if I ever decided to join the church that you would be the first one to know?  Well I am joining the church!

None of us even knew he was investigating, researching or anything.  But he had been for some time.  he read the book of Mormon in 10 days, prayed and he knew the church was true and that he wanted to join.  I WAS IN SHOCK FOR A FEW WEEKS!  He immediately started the discussions with the missionaries and committed to baptism.  All this in 3 weeks.  On November 28th, 2015 My Dad was baptized.  Jake was the one to baptize him.  It was such a special day for me.  I love my Dad so much, and the thought of being able to be sealed as a family one day, was so amazing. Jake then confirmed him the next day. The blessing was so great, Jake did amazing.

This Sunday, December 27th, My dad is going to be receiving the Priesthood.

Such an amazing day, and such an amazing thing!  I feel guilty for giving up, it taught me a lesson, and that is that just by being an example and living your life as you should, can influence someone.

Christmas Time Fun

Herriman Precinct always does a really fun Christmas party.  Its at the fire station, they make and serve dinner, and then the Chiefs daughter, who is amazing, does face painting, they have a coloring station, a present table for the kids and then you just run around and have fun and chat and get to know all the other officers and their families.  It is always such a fun time.



Setting up the tree

This year we got a real tree from Costco.  It was so pretty and smelled so good.  While Jake was at work the kids and I decorated it and they jumped and took pictures.

Misc Stuff

The kids had crazy hair day at school and we came up with these:



The kids do a fun run each year at school.  they get donations and then run laps to earn money for the school.



Marshall got to go to Biz Town this year.   They learn about money, and checking accounts, and loans and how to do certain jobs.  This place is set up like a town and you each have a job.  Marshall was the CFO of the bank.  I was able to go and help, it was a really fun time.



Jakes buddy gave us free lower bowl tickets to a JAZZ game.  So we headed down and had a blast, and the JAZZ won and did an awesome job!



Do you know the way to San Jose?

Jake and I drove 12 long hours to San Jose to check out the Malls there to see if it looked good for a ZAGG location.  We fell in love with the Oakridge Mall and just signed a lease with them.  Now they just have to approve us.  Soon we may be owners of two ZAGG locations.

The Drive was actually very beautiful on the way down.  On the way home we hit a snow storm through the Sierra Nevada Mountains, it was kinda scary, we saw a lot of slide offs.  It was a very long drive home.

Jake hurt his shoulder back in July.  He just had surgery to repair his labrum, which included reattaching his bicep and then shaving off some of his AC joint.  Not the most fun of surgeries.

Halloween 2015

We had a fun Halloween.  The Moss' came over to our home and we had dinner and then we went trick or treating, afterwards we played rock band and had a ton of fun!


The kids were actually in school this year for Halloween so they were able to participate in the parade!!

Each Year the Unified Police puts on a big Halloween party at the Sherrifs Office Building.  They decorate the entire Building, have games and food.  The kids look forward to it every year.




We did several fun things for Halloween this year.  Jakes old Sgt is a realtor, and she does a lot of fun activities for her clients throughout the year.  At Halloween she does a party at a pumpkin patch, you get free pumpkins and face painting, donuts and stuff.  Ary and Casey and kids met us there and we had a fun time.

Random Summer

We purchased a blow up hot tub, it has been such a fun thing.  Just big enough for our family.  Amazing for evenings to relax, and Kambria loves going out and just floating in it.


Jake was working on of his overtime gigs and the kids and I were bored, so we went to the park, ate dinner and played for a bit.


We purchased a trampoline for when our backyard was complete and flat.  Jake was working an over night OT thing, so the kids and I decided to sleep out on the trampoline.  We only made it a few hours, before I just couldn't do it, and we all went inside.


Each Year Herriman City has a Lagoon Day and they invite all the officers.  It is so much fun.  We had such a fun time again this year.



School was changed to traditional, so we got a longer summer, and we LOVED that.  It was weird when the kids started school again.  Kambria started first grade and Marshall 5th.  Kambria was all day, which meant I was home all by myself.  It was hard for me at first, but I quickly got used to it.  I enjoy being able to go to lunch with Jake.  The kids were so excited, they didn't even want me to bring them to school, they just wanted to walk, but I couldn't help myself and drove over and took a picture of Kambria, I couldn't find Marshall.  Shadow felt left out, so we let her in on the pictures.



Marshall had been in guitar lessons as a group, it wasn't super helpful, so we signed him up for lessons with a private teacher that comes to our home.  He is learning a lot and is really enjoying it.



We had the raingutter regatta for scouts, we waited until the day of to do Marhsalls, but it turned out okay and he had a lot of fun.



Jake and I were driving to an errand one day and saw this super pretty double rainbow, the picture doesn't do it justice.
