Marshall's Kindergarten Program

Today was Marshall's Kindergarten Program and they were given their Hawk Award. Marshall has loved being in Kindergarten and has learned so much. He knows his phone number, address, how to spell his first and last name, how to tie his shoes, zip and button a jacket, he knows all his letters and sounds, he knows all of his site words, he is an expert in math and so much more.

We are so proud of Marshall. He loves school, and he loves to learn. He loves making friends, he loves making and joining groups and is a good kid. He has made some really good friends, and I am so happy for that. They are all good kids with good parents!

We love you Marshall and we are so excited for you to start 1st grade!!

The program was cute, they sang several songs, said their season poems and then received their awards.

The Dirty Dash 5K

Last year our friend Lisa ran the Dirty Dash and it looked like so much fun. So this year I really wanted to runt the 5K. I emailed some friends and Jake and I became a team of 8 friends. I had several months to get in shape and train, however I left that for the month before. So needless to say, I wasn't in great shape and half way through I thought I was going to die!!! The race was 80% up hill, I swear and in the mud, and there were obstacle courses. You had to climb over Hay bails, walls (I walked around these because they were as tall as me), and crawl through big tubes of muddy water. Walk through trenches of mud that almost pulled off your shoes and then your shoes weighed 100 lbs as you ran. It was a BLAST, I enjoyed it so much, even though I thought I was going to die.

It was in Midway, which is super beautiful!! 7 of us drove up in our Van and we met Jill up there. Her husband tagged along and took a few pictures for us, because there was no way our cameras would have survived. Her daughter also did the piglet run!!

It was a blast and I plan on doing it again next year for sure!!! I must say today (the day after), my legs are jello, my legs are scratched to all heck and I am exhausted. So tomorrow starts my exercise plan so that I can get in shape and stay in shape.

This is at the end, we all were together to jump into the final mud pit! People were cheering for canon balls or belly flops, so some of the crazy peeps did just that!!!

You will notice Jon just ahead of the man in shorts covered from head to toe in mud, he was first, then we have Jake and Jill in mid air, With Lisa thinking about it, me with my arms behind me for some strange reason and Diana trying not to fall in the mud!

Here we are after! They had cold showers, that were SOOOOO cold, so we did a quick rinse and then Thankfully Teresa had the brilliant idea of bringing Jugs of warm/hot water in the car. So we went back to the Van and cleaned off with nice warm water and we were clean enough to go home and take a wonderfully needed shower.

Thanks everyone for running with us, we had soooooo much fun!! Next year I will be more muddy and I will be the one throwing mud in team mates eyes, mouths, ears and hair. So watch out, I am prepared for some mud wrestling (LISA)!!!!! And I will wear capri's so my legs don't get cut up so bad!!!!

Meet Drakeog

He is the newest member to our family. He is Marshall's Unusual Pet that he had to make for school. Marshall wanted a pet that was a dragon/snake/dog. I can't remember his name, but he enjoys to eat bacon flavored treats and mice. He lives in hole in our backyard. I'm pretty sure the parents do the majority of the work on projects like this, so I am pretty sure they should stop it!!!! Marshall got a blister from the hot glue gun (I did as well), but had way too much fun making this little fellow!!!

Getaway to Midway

For my Birthday and Mother’s Day Jake planned a fun one night get away for us. I was truly spoiled, and had a fabulous time. Jake is so very thoughtful and put a ton of work into this outing. I am glad he did, because we had so much fun!

We dropped the kids off to Jake's Mom and we were off. We started out going to the shooting range. Jake brought his duty gun, off duty gun, and AK-47. I shot all of them, and then realized I’m not a huge gun person. The vibration was so strong, I think if we were outside I would have liked it more. But I am glad he brought me and that I was able to shoot all of his guns!! Afterwards we went to Speedway Race Karts and raced 15 minutes in the go carts. Jake kicked my butt, but it was a lot of fun. We went downtown and ate and a yummy sandwich shop and had a turkey avocado sandwich.

After we headed up to Park City and did some shopping. We then made our way to Midway to the Johnson Mill Bed and Breakfast. It was so lovely. My most favorite Bed and Breakfast to date (and we have been to several). It sits on 14+ acres of land. It is absolutely beautiful. There is a huge pond that we went out canoeing on, tons of trails, a waterfall and much much more. Our room had a jetted tub, a fireplace and a super high bed. It had a balcony that overlooked the Provo river and you could watch the deer on the meadow. It was so so so so nice. On Saturday morning we woke up went out on the canoe, went on a walk, they made us quiche and coffee cake with juice and then we did some more shopping. Jake also had me get my hair done, my nails done and my eyebrows waxed. I was one spoiled Brandy! Jake is the best ever!!

This was a swing that went over the little river. Jake went several times and never did fall in. I did not even attempt, I would have fallen in!

Jungle Jims

Marshall was just off track for 4 weeks and we didn't get to do too much. We opened up our business, which kept me super busy, then I was super sick, Kambria was super sick and more work. We did manage to go swimming at the rec center, took the kids with Teresa and Hunter down to Pirate Pizza in Orem and then me and Ary took the kids to Jungle Jims. Our Crazy Children

I never understood why anyone would want to work (unless they needed to for money), rather then be a stay at home mom. Well this past few weeks I have figured it out. Her name is KAMBRIA!!! I honestly am not sure what I did in my life to deserve her :)

She is now in a stage where if she is wet/poopy she takes her own diaper off and brings you a clean diaper. Its all good with the wet, however the poopy is rather nasty and calls for the carpets being shampooed.

She has transitioned into a big girl bed, and does okay. The other morning we had a crime scene when we woke up, so Detective Cutright took some pictures ... First Kambria destroyed her room (she did a great job) and then she felt like sleeping with her head on the heat vent (I suppose it would be warm). Can you find her in there, we laughed pretty hard.

A week later, she was not cooperating when bed time rolled around, so we put a gate up on her door so that she couldn't get out. She screamed for hours, being the good parents we are, we checked on her several times. After two hours of screaming we decided she just needed to cry it out. maybe 15 minutes later it was pretty quiet, so Jake went to check on her. She had undressed her self to her bare naked body (diaper and all), peed on the carpet in 3 different spots, pooped on her floor, there was poop on her pillow pet, sheet, and more. So Jake gave her a quick shower, while I cleaned up her mess and shampooed the carpet. Not a fun night at all!!!!!

We have also decided that we need to remove all sweets from our house, it isn't doing well with the children!!!!! For some reason it is all going to their faces!!!

Marshall was so upset with his face that he went and got plastic surgery, I wouldn't recommend his surgeon.

Other then crazy children, we are doing Fantastic. Our business is doing good, each week it is getting better!!! If you haven't heard, Midvale is merging with UPD, so as of July 1st Jake will be with Unified Police and we have no idea what that means for him. First we heard he would stay in detectives and now we hear it is like the NFL draft and all spots are open to everyone, you have to apply and interview and go from there, so he could be back on patrol, we shall see in a few months!!!

Family

Jake's Grandpa Cutright passed away this last week. It is amazing the different feelings we all have when it comes to death. Grandpa Cutright was 92 and he lived an amazing life. He was an amazing man, full of faith and dedicated to family and the gospel. I am thankful that my children have had the opportunity to meet all of their great grandparents (Other then Kambria, she never met Grandpa Gotberg :(). This week as we have talked about Great Grandpa Cutright and his legacy Marshall has asked so many questions, and has been very intrigued about all of it. He also has said many times, " I hope when I have kids I have a boy, because I don't want the Cutright name to end. Papa told me I need a boy to carry on the name!" I thought that was so cute, that he remembered that and really wants that to happen.

Today at the funeral Marshall was so cute. He went through the line to look at Great Grandpa Cutright 4 or 5 times. He would stand there and look and ponder and he even wanted to touch his hands. He was so serious and so excited to go look at him. When I asked him why he wanted to see him so much, he replied, "because I didn't get to see him all the time, and I want to see him as much as I can!" We then talked about eternal families and how special it will be when we do see him again. During the funeral, I was crying (because I am a bawl baby), and I looked over and Marshall had a Kleenex and was rubbing his eyes. I just put my arm around him and gave him a big squeeze. I love that Marshall is a sensitive little guy. He truly cares about everyone and has real emotions. At the grave side service he watched so respectfully as they brought out the casket and dedicated the grave. He then wanted to go look closely and get a flower to keep.

I am sure thankful for families. I am thankful for the gospel and the knowledge that we will live together forever! I am thankful for my testimony and the comfort that it brings at times of death. We are thankful for the great example Grandpa Cutright was to our family, and for his dedication to the Lord. He left an amazing legacy for us to follow.
