Kambria's Baby Blessing

Yesterday we blessed Kambria at church. Jake gave her a very nice Blessing. I am so thankful for Jake and for him honoring his priesthood. We are so thankful for all of our family and friends that came to support us, it was a special day for us. It was pretty funny, Jake was giving Kambria the blessing ... there was a pause so I opened up my eyes and looked at the circle, just to see everyone in the circle reach in with both hands and then they were back to normal. Kambria slipped and they almost dropped her, so thankful she didn't get dropped, but pretty funny!! After the blessing everyone came over for lunch and visiting. What a wonderful day it was.

Grandma Nielson

This last Week Jake's Grandma Nielson Passed away. She was diagnosed with cancer and passed away 3 months later. What a blessing that she didn't have to suffer long! Grandma was an amazing lady, I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet her and to build some memories. Every thanksgiving the entire Nielson family would get together for dinner. There were always a lot of people, but the food was always yummy, and the company was always great! The funeral was really nice, Jake's mom gave a talk, that was so nice, she had a lot of love for her Mom. Jake's Grandpa passed away many years ago, but he had recorded some songs and they played 2 of them at the funeral, it was very nice. He had a different voice, kinda twangy country, but I really really liked it. It was nice to be around family and to reflect on the memories that everyone has of her. It is comforting to have the gospel in our lives and know the plan of salvation. It is a wonderful feeling to know we will see her again and to have the understanding that she is in a better place. Marshall was really cute, as we walked into the chapel Marshall waived to the ceiling, Jake asked him what he was doing and he said he was saying Hi to Grandma up in heaven. Then he said, "When I go to heaven I don't think I will recognize her dad, because she will be young and perfect." Jake went on to tell him that he will know her. I love my family and I am so thankful for the Plan of Salvation and the comfort that it brings me when loved ones move on to a better place.

Cousins

Jake's sister Kim had a baby girl just 10 days after me. They named there daughter Cadence. It has been a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of them together at our Super Bowl Party last night. I hope they grow up to be best friends, being only 1 week apart they should be pretty close. I think it will be fun to see how they both grow. Right now Kambria is longer, but Cadence may just jump in size ... you never know! They are both such cute girls and we are so happy to have them both. From the pictures you can see they both like to have there tongues out, and Kambria is going to be great at karate one day. One day when we get together again we will have to attempt some better pictures. We will make sure they are both fed and happy :0) We had a fun little get together and we are happy the Steelers won. We also played Rock Band, for some reason these are the only pictures that were taken.

Changes

I just love being a mom. It is so much fun as the kids change,to be able to see those changes and just love every minute of it. Marshall is getting so big. He will say things that make me laugh so hard, but I am not sure where he gets it at. Today I told him that I took some medicine that is making my mouth taste yucky, he said laughing, Good one mom, good one!!! Anytime you say a bad word, such as shutup or stupid, he catches you and you have to apologize. We were getting our car the other day and the dealer said stupid, Marshall looked at him and gasped. Me and Jake started laughing, he asked what and we had to inform him we don't say stupid. Ha ha ha!
Kambria is getting huge, she now realizes what her hands are for and she can throw her binki so far. She smiles and tries to coo. Me being the bad mom that I am . . . . I was so sick with a cold, so I took dayquil, a few days later Kambria was eating every hour and never was full. So confused was I. Well then my sister advised me by taking Nyquil I have dried up my milk . . . FRUSTRATING!!! So I have been nursing alot, drinking a lot of water and today I have started taking Fenugreek natural food vitamin things. They are supposed to help you produce more milk. The have the worst after taste and don't even think about burping because then you will probably throw up (sorry too much info I know!!)
Jake has been so busy with work and school that I pretty much feel like a single mom, often lonely, and lazy!! He will be leaving soon to go out of state and then my craziness will start. But so is life. Well I bought Kambria a blessing dress, I will take some pics and post them later.
So we finally did it! We got a minivan. I was one of those people who always said I WILL NEVER drive a minivan, however after having a second child and being jammed in our civic, I decided that it was greatly needed. I love it! It is so roomy, it has the dual sliding doors so Marshall can get in and out easily on his own. We have room for our stroller, and much more. We have been looking for months now, and found the one we liked for a great deal :0)
Sorry for all the rambling. I guess this is how I talk when I only seem to see kids all day. LOL

One Month Already ....

I cannot believe that Kambria is already 1 month old. The time went way tooo fast. She is growing so big. She is going to be tall like Jake, and Marshall poor kid will have my short genes. The last few days Kambria has started to smile, she has always had the upset tummy smile, but now when Marshall laughs, or we rub her face she smiles sooooo BIG at us, I love it!!! And then this morning I was talking to her, and she coo'd(however you spell that) back at me, it was soo stinkin cute. I love when they start talking in baby talk to you and she notices everything. She rolls side to side and if I grab her hands she will sit on her butt. She kicks her legs, they are very strong, she has a toy that goes by her feet and when she kicks it, it makes noises, she really thinks that is cool. We have all loved seeing her grow and just love having her as part of our family.

Here are some pictures of Marshall. He doesn't really have a real smile right now. He likes to be goofy and not serious. But they turned out cute! I am proud of Marshall and what a good brother he is. He would do anything for Kambria. He loves loves loves to sing to her, he loves to talk to her in a baby voice. He always checks on her to make sure she is okay. He is the best big brother. He has acted out a bit, and has tested my patience, but he is a good kid! I love being a mom, I am so thankful that I can stay home and raise them. I love watching Kambria as she notices and recognized things, I love to hold her and just stare at her. I love hearing Marshall sing, I love hearing him talk to Kambria. My kids are my joy, I am so thankful for Motherhood. I am thankful for Jake as well, for providing for our family, and being the best dad and husband that he can! I love my life!!
